The Pitch Sessions

IN-EDIT International Music Documentary Film Festival of the Netherlands invites makers to submit their music documentary projects in development and participate at the Smack My PITCH Up! The Pitch Sessions!

The selected projects will enrol in a full programme consisting of two workshops (project development and pitch training) and a spot to pitch in front of an audience and a selected panel of experts.

On top of that, one project will cash in €500 worth of rental equipment courtesy of BudgetCam as well as a spot to premiere the film at IN-EDIT!

About IN-EDIT

IN-EDIT International Music Documentary Film Festival of the Netherlands brings new international and Dutch music documentaries to Amsterdam and other cities of the Netherlands. Next to film screenings, the festival has live performances by matching musicians, Q&As with artists and directors, panel discussions,… and the Industry Meetings, a buzzing and in constant growth professional program arranged by and for professionals. Check here more about the Industry Meetings 2023.

About the Industry Meetings

The Industry Meetings is a yearly gathering for filmmakers and industry professionals of the field of music documentary, and a platform for creators to meet, discuss and learn. A place where new talents meet the experts, where new projects are developed, where the cutting edge of the industry is discussed, where networking is as fun as fruitful, where music and film join forces, where film and new media meet.

What?

Participating at The Pitch Sessions means you get two workshops led by award winning docu filmmaker Koen Suidgeest and a spot at the final pitch during the IN-EDIT Festival.

Workshop 1 – Project development (Tuesday, 11th April): you will further develop your idea and form it into a solid project plan.

Workshop 2 – Pitch training (Wednesday, 12th April): get to prepare your pitch through feedback rounds and discussions as well as both group and one-on-one coaching.

Final Pitch (Sunday, 15th April 11:00 – 13:00): you will give a short presentation to an audience and a panel of experienced professionals in different fields of the industry. After your presentation, the panel of advisors will give you feedback.

One-on-one meeting: after the event, you will be able to opt to a meeting with one of the advisors to help you take the next step.

The panel will select one project they want to see screened at IN-EDIT in the future. The maker of that project will also receive rental equipment credit to help them get one step closer to realising their documentary.

Why?

Because you can communicate your plans to a relevant public, further develop your ideas, gain insight from experts and potentially get more people to join your team! The Pitch Sessions are an excellent way to promote young talent, network, and provide a space for new ideas to flourish.

Where?

Both workshops and event take place at Melkweg (Lijnbaansgracht 234a 1017 PH Amsterdam).

How?

Applying is free of charge. If your project is selected, you will be able to accept it and enrol by paying a participation fee of €50. This fee includes all the above.
